The Role:

The Account Director is a critical role at Data Society focused on generating revenue from new logos by identifying and establishing relationships with organizations that will benefit from our high-quality workforce development programs. The Account Director will report to the Chief Revenue Officer. As a key member of the sales team, you'll build and maintain a portfolio of enterprise accounts from prospecting through delivery, ensuring the client’s success and renewal with Data Society. You'll guide these businesses through the transformative landscape of data and generative AI technologies, empowering them to thrive in an increasingly data-centric environment. You will:

  • Meet and exceed sales targets by selling Data Society’s full range of training programs, from data literacy 101 to Python and Large Language Models.
  • Create and execute key sales and business development initiatives to increase pipeline, including actively seeking out new sales opportunities through cold outreach and networking.
  • Own the full funnel of sales from prospecting through proposal to implementation and renewal, using consultative sales methods and relationship building to drive long term, renewable business relationships which drive ROI for all parties.
  • Develop and use a strategic understanding of prospective and existing client needs to effectively propose packages of Data Society training programs.
  • Manage and document a clear sales pipeline and participate in revenue forecasting processes and meetings.
  • Negotiate and close deals, overcoming objections as needed, and manage contract negotiations to completion.
  • Work with our instructional design and data science teams to design custom data science training programs for our clients.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time on behalf of the company for meetings, conferences, and other revenue growth opportunities.


Skills and qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in quota-carrying enterprise sales roles ($1 million annual quota or more), bonus points for experience selling technical data solutions and/or training programs
  • Proven hunting and closing experience with ability to influence and sell to C-level executives within large enterprises
  • Strong presentation and proposal writing skills
  • A track record of success in driving consistent activity, pipeline development, and quota achievement
  • Proven ability to independently manage, develop, and close new client relationships
  • Skilled at establishing trusted relationships internally and externally
  • Proactive, independent thinker with high energy and a positive attitude
  • Collaborative mentality and commitment to continuous skills development 
  • Exceptional time and communication skills to assemble resources and advance opportunities

This position is flexible to be remote anywhere within the USA, though preference will be given to candidates in the metro Richmond, VA or Washington, DC areas. Salary will be between $125,000-$175,000 with OTE. In addition, this position will be eligible for full benefits including Unlimited PTO, Healthcare Insurance, 401k, Metro Transit subsidy, Paid Parental Leave, and Paid Disability – all on Day 1.
